  • ESAB® Dual Shield R-70 Ultra® Gas Shielded Flux Core Carbon Steel Tubular Welding Wire of 1/16" Dia efficiently produces smoother arc characteristics and lower welding fumes than other non-ultra types. The think slag cover can be easily removed. When welded with balanced voltage and amperage, there is a very little spatter produced. Wire designed to weld mild, medium carbon steels or some low alloy steels has proven capabilities in fabrication of bridges, pressure vessels, earth moving equipment, construction, shipbuilding and welding pertaining to structural and nuclear codes. It is also used for flat and horizontal single or multi-pass applications on low or medium carbon steels using 100% CO2 shielding gas. Areas of application include heavy equipment, railcar and general fabrication. Wire is a low fuming flux cored wire with a balanced chemistry that lets for a greater tolerance of mill scale and surface oxides than is normally associated with E70T-1CD H8, E70T-1M, E70T-9CD H8, E70T-9M class of wires. In the as welded condition, notch toughness is improved. Bead shape is flat to slightly convex and slag coverage is complete.
